Porous items are a part of our daily routine. These mainly consist of our clothing, beddings, and any other item than can hold liquid. Due to its absorbent nature, porous items are more susceptible to contamination not just of novel viruses like Covid-19 but other kinds of bacteria and common viruses as well. You can usually detect the presence of bacteria in porous items through its smell. If it has a foul odor, chances are, bacteria already thrives.
Disinfecting porous items is easy with MD Sterilizing and Disinfecting Solution. Follow these steps to ensure protection:
Before handling contaminated porous item
Make sure you are wearing gloves / proper protective wear if the porous item is contaminated, specifically for hospital linens, towels of patients, etc.
Disinfection Procedure
Prepare a solution of 1 part MD Sterilizing and Disinfecting Solution and 100 parts water.
( 10ml to 1 liter ). Make enough diluted solution to completely soak porous item whether on a basin or a pail.
Soak contaminated porous item in diluted solution for 10 minutes.
Remove porous item from diluted solution and rinse thoroughly with water.
Wash the porous item accordingly whether through hand wash / washing machine using liquid detergent.
MD Sterilizing and Disinfecting Solution can also be used for washing machines by selecting the “Speed Wash” option or its equivalent.
Make sure that the amount you use coincides with the technical specifications of the washing machine you are using. An average washing machine uses 19 gallons of water. For 19 gallons of water, you need to put 665 ml of concentrated MD Sterilizing and Disinfection Solution.
Do not mix MD Sterilizing and Disinfecting Solution with other liquid agents.
